Best Songs to Play in Indian Weddings

Weddings have always had a very integral part of Indian
culture and tradition. It is just not the meet of a bride or groom but a meet
and bonding relation between families, and hence weddings in India are so
lavish and grand making it the “big fat Indian wedding”. Like any traditional
wedding is incomplete with beautiful decoration, amazing buffet and of course
rituals, songs also play an important role in these weddings. Any Indian
wedding, I bet is incomplete without songs and a few desi thumkas on it. So
much so that a pre-ritual completely dedicated to this is celebrated called the
‘Sangeet’ where both the bride’s family and grooms family come together to
shake a leg!

So here are a few amazing wedding songs which I am sure will make to want to dance and groove all night!

Morni banke originally a Punjabi folk number, received
immense love in the recent bollywood remake and has the perfect beats that will
want to make you go all crazy we funky steps. The song features Ayushmaan
Khurana and Sania Malhotra and has the voice of Guru Randhawa the very new face
of pop songs and the pathaka queen Neha Kakar.

The music is directed by Tanishk Bagchi and lyrics are
by MellowD. It is a typical wedding music that has also been pictured on an
engagement theme, which all these colors, amazing dance moves and that create a
superfluous energy all around. This song gives you that perfect wedding vibe
and that’s why is on the top list of wedding songs!

Badhaai Ho (2018)

guru Randhawa, Neha kakar

One of my all-time favorite’s songs that I always
dance on is Saiyaan Superstar. This song is pictured on the seduction queen
sunny Leone and Mohit Ahlawat. Music is composed by Ammal Malik and
choreographed by Ahmed khan.

The song also features Shivani Tanksale and VJ Andy
with Jai Bhanushali. This is that very songs where the bride will want to dance
and make her man go crazy with lyrics like ’’Mere saiyaan superstar.., mai fan
hui unki.., o mere saiyaan superstar”. A perfect song that can dance on and
that gives you perfect glorious wedding vibe with all the music and the beats
mastered. A special song and also very must once that have to be present in
your wedding playlist for a special occasion like sangeet.

Ek Paheli Leela(2015)

Singers: Tulsi Kumar

Whenever you mention wedding, the first song that
comes to my mind is this iconic number of Didi tera devar deewana. This song
has ruled the hearts of millennials and even people in the 90’s for decades;
however one never gets old listening to this song. This song picturized on the
dhak-dhak girl Madhuri Dixit and Bollywood’s sultan, Salman Khan, shows all the
teasing and drama that goes on in an Indian between between the two wedding

The song was released in 1997 yet has this amazing
wedding elements to it that even in the 2000’s people like to sing and dance on
it and it instill that shaadi vibes in you, that you won’t be able to resist!

It is one my favorite song and I always prefer
dressing up like Madhuriji wearing that amazing violet saree with the heavy
maangtika. Not to mention but it’s always a vain to dance on it if you don’t
bring in that naughty grace like the song itself depicts! It is a sure song to
play on weddings. Music is composed by Raamlaxman and lyrics are by Dev Kohli

Hum Aapke Hain Kaun(1994)

Lata Mangeshkar, S.P. Balasubramanium

Dil chori yet another groovy song, fits perfect if
your wedding is a little more than just being traditional and has a cocktail
party vibe! Picturized on Nushrat Barucha, Sunny Singh, and Kartik Aryan is a
song for millennials this year who love parties, and wants to add a traditional
touch to it. This song has also been a major comeback for Yo Yo honey Singh and
he gets the song real!

The dance moves in this song is yet another catchy
part as it is simple to even shake on without much hassle. So, this song is
perfect for even parties on a modern sangeet day or even for bachelorette party
type! This song is all fun and just so catchy that you can’t remain calm when

Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety

Yo Yo Honey Singh, Simar Kaur, Ishers

No Indian wedding, I am sure is complete without their
traditional folk songs being sung, but what if the songs get a more dominant
dholki beat that’s super exciting and viby? London thumkda has that very
element in the song that likes most the folk songs would be like. Pictured on
Kangana Ranaut and Rajkumar Rao in the lead, it shows how the bride gets all
ready for her wedding with the mehndi and dancing along with all the amazing
drama! The music composer is Amit Trivedi under the label T-series

Labh Janjua, Sonu Kakar, Neha Kakar

Bole chudiyaan has been a one of a kind shaadi song,
which is however pictured on the occasion of karva chauth
in the movie, yet is a compulsory played songs in weddings and sangeet
functions. Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and
Kajol Devgan, it is a kind of song that just makes to want to through up in air
with joy and enthusiasm.

 It shows this
glory of traditional India where moment is cherished with family and not to
mention, Kareena’s dancing in the music video has been on point.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gam

Jatin Lalit, Amit Kumar, Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Kavita

Weddings are so special in India because it’s the most
celebrated kind of festivals that depicts colors, food, joy, romance, dancing,
with all the blessings. But what’s all this without all the songs that makes the
environment more tempting. So, go head make your own wedding year playlist, but
don’t forget to include the ones mentioned above that I m sure is enjoyed by
generations of all ages!
